Crewe’s UK Town of Culture 2028 bid

Crewe Town Council has officially submitted its bid to become the UK’s first Town of Culture in 2028, following the Spring Festival of Fun and a wider programme of community engagement.

The bid is an opportunity to tell a broader story about Crewe, not only as a place with a rich railway and engineering heritage, but as a town with creativity, community spirit and ambition for the future.

Crewe’s culture is not only found in its events, venues and creative organisations. It is also found in its railway heritage, engineering skills, community networks and the shared ambition to keep the town moving forward.

As a Crewe-headquartered engineering business, OSL Global recognises the importance of place, skills and connectivity. Our work across rail and infrastructure is closely aligned with the town’s long-standing role as a centre for movement, engineering and technical capability.

A successful Town of Culture bid could help raise Crewe’s profile, support local participation and create new opportunities for residents, businesses, young people and community groups.

OSL Global welcomes the submission and looks forward to seeing how the next stage develops.
