At approximately 6am 18.03.19, Kilkerran Signal box was brought back into use following a 9 day commissioning period involving signalling,telecoms, E&P and civils alterations. The project has now been commissioned, with the team on the ground having to face challenging weather conditions. Thank you for your hard work. Lessons to be learnt are now under review for future projects.

OSL have supported the Tyne and Wear Metro in delivering improvements to their network at St. James’ Park Station. Four new point ends were successfully installed and New Works Tested by OSL’s Installation and Testing Teams and were signed back into service early. Working collaboratively with our client and the Network Operator, the project was successfully delivered - once again reaffirming OSL as the Delivery Partner of Choice.
Thank you to all staff involved with the blockade works for Nexus/TXM, all equipment consisting of 10 signals, 8 train stops, 12 track circuits, 2 treadles and 2 ends of points were re-installed, tested and signed back into use 6 hours ahead of schedule. Nexus are extremely pleased with the standard of the work and the efforts and attitude of our staff, job well done by all involved.
OSL have successfully completed Stage 1 & 2 works at the new Intercity Depot in Doncaster. OSL provided Signalling Installation and Testing Staff to commission the first two stages of a project to facilitate the opening of a brand new rail depot in Doncaster that will be used for the new Intercity Trains on the East Coast Mainline. Our client praised the performance of the staff involved and both stages were handed back ahead of programme. OSL are now looking forward to working with our client to complete the project over the summer months.
OSL have successfully taken ownership of the Nantwich Signal Box from Network Rail. Stage 1 - transferring the Signal Box to it's new location in Crewe is now complete. OSL are now undertaking Stage 2 - the refurbishment of the complete Signal Box, ready for its preservation and new duties in training the future Signalling Engineers from the Railway Exchange Training Academy (RETA) and Crewe UTC.
The Gresty Lane Resignalling Scheme was successfully commissioned for Siemens and the Manchester office. The lessons to be learnt from this project going forward will help OSL improve the way in which they deliver schemes in the future, resulting in more efficient working, cost management, resourcing solutions and fatigue management.
